Award-winning Limpopo star Makhadzi is officially returning to the stage following her recovery from a serious car accident that paused her performances earlier this year. The beloved performer has now been cleared by doctors to resume work, and fans will soon see her back where she belongs.
According to an official statement released by her team on 16 February 2026, the singer, born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, recently attended a medical check-up in Polokwane, where doctors confirmed she is well enough to return to performing. Her medical team expressed satisfaction with her recovery and gave her the green light to continue with her schedule.The star had been recovering after being hit by a vehicle while exiting her car along the N1 in Limpopo on 31 December 2025. At the time, she was travelling to Johannesburg for a performance. She was admitted to Netcare Pholoso Hospital, where she received treatment and began her recovery surrounded by professional care and strong support from loved ones.
Speaking in the statement, Makhadzi shared her gratitude for those who helped her through the experience. She said, “I am feeling good and would like to thank all the staff members, the nurses, and the doctors from Netcare, Pholoso in Polokwane for taking care of me from day one. I would also like to thank the Minister of Sport, Mr Gayton Mackenzie; Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, and her executive; Polokwane Mayor Cllr John Mpe; my family; my mother and my father; my team; fellow artists; the AFRIMAs; the Munguambe Foundation; and all my followers for all the prayers and messages of support.”
While she stepped away from live performances, the hitmaker did not step away from music. Her team confirmed that she continued recording during her recovery, with new material expected soon. It is a sign that her creative energy never slowed down, even while healing.Her official comeback performance is set for Fountains in Pretoria on 1 May 2026. The show is expected to mark a celebratory return for one of South Africa’s most energetic performers, with fans already counting down the days.
