Unathi Nkayi, known for her role as a judge on Idols SA, had been with Kaya 959 for just over a year. She joined the station in March 2020, taking over from Bridget Masinga as the host of the Midday Joy show, which aired weekdays from 12 PM to 3 PM.
Before joining Kaya 959, Unathi had a long career in radio, having worked for YFM and Metro FM. She also took a break from radio in 2017, but returned to the airwaves with Kaya 959 in 2020. Her departure from the station marks the end of her relatively short time at Kaya 959.
