Munghana Lonene FM has announced its refreshed on-air line-up, effective Monday, 4 April 2022. Among the new additions, Ms Kulie joins the station following her exit from Capricorn FM, Limpopo’s only commercial radio station. Ms Kulie joins the station as the new producer of Gongomela and Lathela, and will also co-host the weekend breakfast show N’wayitelo wa Mugqivela alongside Maningi Wa Ntamu.
Her arrival follows a pattern seen in recent years, where several broadcasters have made similar moves. These include personalities such as Khensani Nyango, Lin-diva, Themba Techtonics and Ike Ngobeni, all of whom have left Capricorn FM for Munghana Lonene FM.
The new line-up also includes Foster Chauke, popularly known as Mafosi Trybyforce, and the multi-talented Solly Makamu, who both join Munghana Lonene FM. The pair will host Timintsu ta Xitsonga from 1 PM to 3 PM. Mafosi previously worked at Giyani-based community station GCR FM and later at Vision FM.
The Quintonizer returns on air after a year behind the scenes producing Gongomela. He now hosts a new early morning show, Dzudza Vurhongo from 3 AM to 5 AM. The popular breakfast show Phaphama will now air from 6 AM to 9 AM, hosted by Connizer and DJ Brian, with DJ SoulCrusher as producer and traffic reporter.
Ike Ngobeni takes over Dzumba na Mina from 1:30 PM to 3 PM , working alongside producer Mchangani. In the afternoon drive slot, DJ Matt steps in as host of Khoma Ndlela from 15:00 to 18:00. He is joined by Lindiva as co-host and Xolani Wale Kenhuk as producer and traffic reporter.
On weekends, Phumzile Ngobeni, hosts a new early morning show from 3 AM to 5 AMon both Saturdays and Sundays. Saturday evenings will celebrate Xitsonga traditional music with the instrumental hour from 6 PM to 7 PM, while Amukelo Ngobeni takes over Campus Connection. The rest of the line-up remains unchanged.
Our new line-up and exciting fresh features will reflect the station strategy of being a brand which stays abreast and living up to the brand promise of setting the trends for others to follow. It will also serve the Vatsonga nation, speak to younger listeners, whilst retaining our programming content that will resonate with loyal listeners.
