Sydney Baloyi returns to Munghana Lonene FM

Legendary broadcaster Sydney Baloyi’s iconic voice returns to Munghana Lonene FM’s airwaves on Saturday, April 1st, as part of the station’s fresh lineup. Baloyi, who left the Xitsonga SABC radio station in 2019, will now helm the Saturday breakfast show, N’wayitelo wa Mugqibela, alongside co-host Ms. Kulie, with Themba Techtonics serving as the producer.

Maningi wa Ntamu makes a comeback to weekdays, as he takes over the community diaries slot Ta Vaaki weeknights from 8 PM to 9 PM. Award-winning presenter Thembzana Reloaded will shift gears to host a social content show, Exihlaleni xa vulombe, airing Mondays to Thursdays from 10 PM to 12 AM.

Popular adult content talk show Gongomela moves to the late-night slot, airing from 12 AM to 3 AM Mondays to Fridays, and will be hosted by N’wana n’wa Gee. Meanwhile, Hope Lebese, the station’s voiceover artist and Nghwazi ya Mpfanganiso talent search runner-up, joins the on-air team to host Youth ke Yona, on Fridays from 9 PM to 10 PM.

The Quintonizer joins Mafosi – Try by force, to host the station’s signature Xitsonga traditional music show, Timitsu ta Xitsonga, airing Saturdays from 1 PM to 3 PM. Dr. KS Maluleke, a renowned preacher, will co-host the Sunday morning gospel show, Sisimuka u vangama, alongside Maningi wa Ntamu, broadcasting from 6 AM to 9 AM. Dr. Maluleke will be based at the station’s Giyani studio in Masingita Mall.

Additionally, the station also welcomes two religious contributors namely Pastor AG Zitha popularly known as the ‘The Voice of Transformation’ for Christianity as well as Phendus Mashakeni for Rastafarian. The station plans to launch profiling programs across various platforms, celebrating the intellectual heritage of the Vatsonga people, to be led by Khalanga Pat Mathebula once a month. The rest of the lineup remains unchanged.
