Tebogo Magubane Bids Munghana Lonene FM Farewell

Tebogo Magubane is leaving Munghana Lonene FM after 15 years. Magubane served as the station’s Programmes Manager since September 2018. He bid his farewell on the station’s breakfast show Phaphama with hosts DJ Brian and Connizer. He won’t be straying too far from broadcasting, he’s set to head Tshwane FM.

Magubane joined the Xitsonga SABC radio in 2008 as a presenter for the International Top 30 and Ta Mbilu Yanga. Later that year he moved to production and produced the Phaphama breakfast show which was hosted by DJ Brian and legendary Sydney Baloyi. In 2016 he was roped in as Acting Executive Producer for SABC Education for six months. He was the acting Programmes Manager from December 2017 till he stepped in the role permanently in September 2018.

“I bid farewell to this remarkable radio station that has been my home for the past 15 incredible years,” Magubane said in a statement.” He said “The radio waves beckoned me to explore new horizons, and I eagerly accepted the challenge. From presenter, I evolved into the role of producer for various shows including the flagship breakfast show, Phaphama and the Top 30 working diligently behind the scenes.”

He went on to say “Driven by a thirst for knowledge and growth, I then embraced a specialized role as the producer for imaging. It was here that I discovered the transformative power of sound, crafting the distinct identity of Munghana Lonene FM through captivating jingles, promos, and creative audio elements. Throughout this incredible journey, what has truly left an indelible mark on my heart is the unwavering support and loyalty of our listeners. You have been the driving force behind our success, the reason we tirelessly strived to deliver exceptional content day after day. Your calls, messages, and unwavering presence have inspired us to push boundaries and redefine what it means to be a public-oriented radio station.”
