The voice of legendary broadcaster Sydney Baloyi will be heard on Munghana Lonene FM on Saturday, April 1, as part of the station’s new line-up. In 2019, Baloyi left the Xitsonga SABC radio station and now returns to host the Saturday breakfast show, N’wayitelo wa Mugqibela, with co-host Ms. Kulie and Themba Techtonics as the producer.
Other changes listeners can look forward to is Maningi wa Ntamu’s return to midweeks as he takes over the community diaries slot Ta Vaaki weeknights from 8 PM to 9 PM. Award-winning presenter Thembzana Reloaded will now present a social content show from Mondays to Thursdays from 10 PM to 12 AM, Exihlaleni xa vulombe.
The popular adult content talk show Gongomela moves to 12 AM to 3 AM Mondays to Fridays and will still be hosted by N’wana n’wa Gee. On Friday nights from 9 PM to 10 PM, the station’s voiceover artist and Nghwazi ya Mpfanganiso talent search runner-up Hope Lebese joins the on-air team as the new presenter for Youth ke Yona.
The Quintonizer joins Mafosi – Try by force to present the station’s signature Xitsonga traditional music show Timitsu ta Xitsonga on Saturdays from 1 PM to 3 PM. Popular preacher Dr KS Maluleke will co-host the Sunday morning gospel show Sisimuka u vangama with Maningi wa Ntamu from 6 AM to 9 AM. Dr Maluleke will be based at the station’s Giyani studio in Masingita Mall.
In addition, the station also welcomes two religious contributors namely Pastor AG Zitha popularly known as the ‘The Voice of Transformation’ for Christianity as well as Phendus Mashakeni for Rastafarian. The station is going to introduce profiling programmes on multi-platforms to celebrate the Vatsonga intellectual heritage which will be hosted by Khalanga Pat Mathebula once every month. The rest of the lineup remains unchanged.
