The country’s largest commercial radio station, METRO FM, will on Monday 03 April 2023, introduce a new line up for 2023/24. The new line up will see award-winning radio presenter Sabelo Mtshali popularly known as DJ Sabby, take over the reins as the new host of Best Mornings. DJ Sabby replaces Mo Flava and will be joined by one of South Africa’s dynamic and influential stars, Kandice Kardash. The show will weekdays from 6 AM – 9 AM, and promises to be high energy, fast paced and engaging.
Siya Mhlongo moves from The Scared Space to a new weekday show , Command Your Day, from 5 AM – 6 AM. The new show is geared to ensure the audience gets the most out of the mornings and start their day right. Siya is also part of Ukhozi FM’s new line up, making history as the only presenter to be work for two of the biggest radio stations on a full-time basis.
Khutso Theledi moves to Break Away with Khutso Theledi from Mondays to Fridays between 9 AM – 12 AM and will be joined by Somizi Mhlongo, who is making a comeback to the station and will contribute on the highly popular segment Ask a Man.
Seasoned broadcaster Faith Mangope has been roped in to host METRO FM Talk, from Monday to Thursday 7 PM – 9 PM. Ayabonga Cawe will present the station’s new digital offering, Metro FM Off-Air, and will flight once a week. More details will be unveiled soon.
Paul Mtirara returns to host Let’s Talk about it airing will from Monday to Thursday from 9 PM – 12 AM. This show promises to bring life to night time, with a combination of light talk fused with music to keep the listeners company as they burn the midnight oil.
DJ Le Soul will join Ryan the DJ on The Urban Beat, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 PM – 12 AM. On Saturdays and Sundays, Mantsoe Pout takes over Radioactive from 12 AM – 3 AM and young upcoming talented Pretty Ngwenya, fresh from Vow Radio, will follow with the early weekend breakfast show The Weekend Protocol on Saturdays and Sundays 03:00 – 06:00.
The Weekend Breakfast Sounds Good will now be hosted by Mat Elle and Somizi Mhlongo, every Saturday between 6 AM – 9 AM and promises to deliver the freshest in entertainment, lifestyle, sports, food and community focused projects.
The METRO FM TOP 30 will now be hosted by Kyeezi every Saturday from 9 AM – 12 PM. Mpumi Mlambo, will follow him between 12 PM – 3 PM, taking listeners on a musical journey, with the show The Encore. Lulo Café takes over the METRO FM Lounge every Sunday between 6 PM – 9 PM.
The rest of the line-up remains the same.
