Given Mabunda wins Munghana Lonene FM’s talent search

Given Mabunda, a rising star in broadcasting, has claimed victory in Munghana Lonene FM’s Nghwazi ya Mpfanganyiso (translated master of spin) talent search, just a year after his departure from Capricorn FM. The 26-year-old was crowned winner following an intense competition, with the announcement made at SABC Studios in Polokwane.

Originally from ka Dzumeri village in Nongoma, north of Limpopo, Mabunda began his radio career at Tshwane FM when he was only 15 years old. He started with a popular show called RockaFella and later moved up to host the morning and afternoon shows, earning nominations for Best Presenter and Best Show at the Liberty Radio Awards.

In 2017, Mabunda joined Capricorn FM where he became well-known for his work on the station’s flagship CTM Urban Top 40 show before moving on to new opportunities. Besides his success in radio, Mabunda has qualifications in logistics and supply chain management from Tshwane University of Technology.

Interestingly, Hope Lebese, who was the runner-up in the talent search, has been chosen as Munghana Lonene FM’s new voiceover artist, adding to the talent discovered during this competition.
