Renowned TV and radio anchor Aldrin Sampear is embarking on a new chapter. After his stint at Power FM, he is making the move to SABC news and talk radio station SAfm. Sampear will host the afternoon drive talk show, Beyond The Headline, airing weekdays from 3 PM to 6 PM. His debut on the show is slated for January 4th, 2021.
With over a decade of experience in broadcasting, Sampear embarked on his career at Kasie FM in 2008. Since then, he has contributed to various newsrooms, including Jozi FM, YFM, 702, and Jacaranda FM. Notable among his reporting experiences is his comprehensive coverage of the Marikana Massacre from its inception, highlighting one of many stories he is deeply passionate about, while concurrently delving into the intricate realm of politics.
His journey led him to SABC TV, where he assumed the role of Senior Political Journalist in 2014, later transitioning to eNCA in the same capacity in 2017. During this time, he ventured into hosting his inaugural political TV show, Polit Bureau. Sampear’s versatility extends to talk radio, where he currently hosts Power Talk on Power FM. Additionally, he graces SABC TV screens as the host of Unfiltered, a current affairs show airing on Mondays on SABC 3, and African Perspective, airing on Wednesday evenings.
