Renowned TV and radio anchor Aldrin Sampear is set to embark on an exciting new journey at SABC’s news and talk radio station, SAfm. Following his successful stint at Power FM, Sampear will take the helm of the afternoon drive talk show, Beyond The Headline, airing weekdays from 3 PM to 6 PM. His debut on the show is scheduled for January 4th, 2021.
With over a decade of experience in broadcasting, Sampear began his career at Kasie FM in 2008, eventually contributing to prominent newsrooms such as Jozi FM, YFM, 702, and Jacaranda FM. His comprehensive coverage of events like the Marikana Massacre underscore his dedication to storytelling, particularly in the realm of politics.
Sampear’s versatility spans across different media platforms. He served as Senior Political Journalist at SABC TV and eNCA, launching his own political TV show, Polit Bureau. Currently, he hosts Power Talk on Power FM and SABC 3’s Unfiltered and African Perspective.

Reflecting on his journey, Sampear acknowledged the pivotal moments and individuals who believed in him. In a heartfelt Instagram post, he credited his beginnings at Kasie FM and expressed gratitude to mentors and supporters who played crucial roles in his career development.
“2020 has been a year of challenges and growth,” Sampear shared in his caption. “From reading news on a community radio station, Kasie FM back in 2008 to hosting a drive time show, which broadcasts NATIONALLY. South Africa ndim’ lo. Thank You. Thank You.”
