At the pageant, held in Las Vegas in the US, an ecstatic Zozibini Tunzi competed against 90 contestants from around the globe. The runner-up’s are Miss Puerto Rico (first princess) and Miss Mexico (second princess).

The 26-year-old from Tsolo in the Eastern Cape was one of the hot favourites going into the pageant and outdid the top 16, comprising four entrants from Asia Pacific and Africa, four from Europe, four from the Americas, and four wild cards voted for by the judges. Shine Zozibini, shine.
