Actress and TV Host Nonhle Thema has joined Mzansi Magic’s hit Telenovela Gomora. The former Nonhle Goes To Hollywood reality star makes a return to the limelight after her retirement in 2016 before venturing into real estate. Nonhle will play the role of Cleopatra Mofokeng who is a con artist by trade. Cleopatra is Sbonga’s (played by Khaya Mthembu) childhood friend and will try to lure him into one of her pyramid schemes.
Cleo is a 30-year-old sexy and hot con artist operating in Gauteng. She grew up in a poor family where her mother was a domestic worker and her father a gardener. Her family lived in an RDP house that her mother had inherited from her parents, but her siblings were not happy that the house was left to her.
With limited career choices, Cleo decided early on that she will never work hard to live a good life and she is determined to use her beauty to get what she wants especially from men. Cleo has been moving around in Gauteng going from township to township, tricking people into investing in her pyramid schemes and then taking off with their money. She’s manipulative, charming and a skilled liar.
Nonhle’s previous acting gigs include The Imposter S2 as Evodia and terminated Zabalaza as Kgomotso. Nonhle’s character will span for 2 weeks on the show, however, this is subject to change. Nonhle debuts Gomora on the 14th of September 2020.
Gomora airs every weeknight 7:30 on Mzansi Magic DSTV Channel 161
