In the wake of his debut single Mama that broke the news to people that blood will always be thicker than water, Shaun Cross has just released his second single Heartless featuring talented Rhandzu. In ‘Heartless’, Shaun Cross real name Shaun Thakhani Makharamedzha tells a story in detail on how his girlfriend of 3 years left him because of the long-distance relationship. “She had to change varsities because she changed courses, so that meant she had to go to another province and that’s how the long-distance relationship started,” he says.
The 2× Accounting graduate expresses his craving to get her back and restore things to as they were although the feeling was not mutual. ” After a few months in the long-distance relationship, cracks started to show in the relationship and she asked that we take a break. You know in most cases, a break leads to a breakup,” he explains with a giggle.
His efforts to make her understand fell short when she told him she moved on. Shaun Cross describes long-distance as being heartless because he would like to believe that if it was not for the long-distance relationship maybe they would still be together.
The song is a masterpiece of creativity while it takes you through an emotional roller coaster ride. Rhandzu takes you on a trip down memory lane with her sensational chorus. The heart-rending single will relate to people who have suffered the cruelty of long-distance relationships. If you have been through a divorce or break-up, ‘Heartless’ was certainly made for you.
