Mrs Sande opens up about her first reunion on The Mommy Club

Hosted by TV presenter, actress and singer Ntombee Ngcobo-Mzolo, the first two parts of The Mommy Club’s S2 reunion have been trending on X since Monday, as there is still a lot of drama to unpack. At one stage, #TheMommyClub, Mrs Mops, Ratile and Mrs Sande occupied the top four places on X, with Nunurai also trending in the Top 10.

One of the big talking points was S2 newcomer Mrs Sande walking out of the reunion after having a panic attack. In her first interview since then, Mrs Sande reveals her feelings towards the ladies, her friendships and why she left part 2 in tears.

The first reunion after the show wasn’t an easy ride for Mrs. Sande. “I knew there would be tough questions directed at me because of how things played out on the show,” she reflects. She admits her curiosity may have unsettled others. “I was trying to dig deep and find out things. It might have rubbed people the wrong way,” she confesses, but maintains that overall, she handled the reunion reasonably well.

When asked about the intensity of interactions during the reunion, she acknowledges feeling targeted. “I feel like I was targeted because of the things I said,” she explains, yet she chose not to escalate confrontations. “Everyone was shady to some degree,” she adds.

Looking back on the reunion, Mrs. Sande expresses a desire for more timely apologies. “I should have apologised during the season, not waited for the reunion,” she admits. Reflecting on her role in conflicts, particularly those involving Ratile, she shares heartfelt regrets. “I got into issues because I was defending Ratile as a friend, but when it is time for the same friends to defend you, they don’t.”

Reflecting on her actions and words spoken during the show. “I have two regrets,” she confides. “The first one was gossiping about Mrs. Mops after she confided in me,” she says. “I wish I had handled that better.” Her second regret is

things that she said about Happy. “She and I are now building a friendship,” Mrs. Sande reveals. “I now understand why she is the way she is,” she admits.

“This experience taught me to think before you say anything,” Mrs. Sande reveals when asked about the lessons learned. “I am learning a lot about myself,” she continues, highlighting introspection as a key outcome of her reality TV journey. “These are the things I am going to carry in my everyday life.”

Mrs. Sande is vocal about mental health awareness, sharing her struggles openly to inspire others. “Mental health is serious,” she asserts. “I want people to know they can overcome challenges,” she emphasises, advocating for self-care and knowing when to prioritise one’s well-being.

Post-reunion, Mrs. Sande’s relationships with co-stars have evolved. While questioning her friendship with Ratile, she maintains positive connections with others. “Nunurai and I are just co-stars; we have no issues,” she clarifies. The unexpected confrontation from Nozipho during the reunion left her shocked, given their previously positive interactions. However, she is fostering new friendships with Her Majesty and Mrs. Mops. “We hang out outside of the show, and they have been very kind to me,” she shares.

Part 3 of The Reunion streams Monday, 17 June on Showmax.
