Reigning Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida, has added a new feather to her cap as she ventures into the world of literature with her debut children’s book titled Shudu Finds Her Magic. Published by Jacana Media and beautifully illustrated by Chantelle and Burgen Thorne, the book is set to captivate young readers in six languages.
Inspired by her own childhood experiences, including moments of bullying during a move to a new province and school, Musida’s book aims to empower children aged 4 to 12. It tackles themes of bullying and celebrates the transformative power of friendship.
In discussing her inspiration Musida shared, “I hope that young people will be able to see themselves reflected in the storyline and be able to take something positive away from it.”
Shudu Finds Her Magic promises to be a heartwarming addition to bookshelves nationwide and online by the end of August, offering young readers a tale that resonates with courage, resilience, and the discovery of inner strength.
