MacG announces new book Uncancelable – The Incredible Rise of Mac G

Uncancelable – The Incredible Rise of Mac G   promises to be a fascinating read, detailing MacG’s journey from his early days as a Venda boy to his rise in international broadcasting. Described as “Controversial. Uncompromising. Unshakeable.” on the book’s official site, it explores the world of South African media, the challenges of cancel culture, and MacG’s personal struggles with anxiety, public controversies, and life-threatening experiences.

The book is co-written with Nikolaos Kirkinis, a respected South African author known for his works The Curse of Teko Modise and Strike a Rock: The Thembi Kgatlana Story. Kirkinis, who also wrote Ghetto Ninja: The Junior Khanye Story, adds depth to the book with his extensive experience. Uncancelable – The Incredible Rise of Mac G follows MacG’s journey from obscurity to creating the successful Podcast and Chill with MacG. It features stories from notable South Africans like Black Coffee, Moonchild, Julius Malema, and John Steenhuisen. The book shows how MacG’s podcast, which started in a small room, became a major cultural movement.

MacG’s broadcasting career started as a child star on e.tv’s Craz-e, followed by roles at YFM and 947. Despite facing significant challenges, including public controversies and the loss of sponsorships from brands like Old Mutual and Studio 88, MacG’s podcast has thrived. Since its launch in 2018, Podcast and Chill has attracted over 1 million subscribers, cementing its status as a leading YouTube channel in South Africa.
