5 Questions You Should Ask Yourself When Considering CBD Products

Do you lead an active lifestyle but struggle with muscle aches and pains? Do you consider yourself to be healthy and active but struggle to climb a flight of stairs due to knee-ache? Do you struggle with recurring muscle strains and tired of over the counter medication?  When it comes to the treatment of muscle aches and pains, many have sought a new form of treatment, in the form of CBD.

Fourfivecbd hasn’t been a feature on South African soil for all that long but they’re already making an impact on the local CBD and cannabis industry. Started by Welsh and England veteran rugby players, Dom Day and George Kruis, the UK brand launched in South Africa in October 2019 and have already come a long way since then have made their way into the hands of many athletes and active people alike.

Dom and George are two professional rugby players who know everything about the impact and demands of sport and training on the body, which is partly what introduced them to CBD, as they actively searched for new ways in which they could manage their injuries and ultimately speed up recovery – helping them be at their best after every game.

Since hitting the shores of South Africa, fourfivecbd has created a buzz not only for their impact on recovery, sleep, and wellness but also for their contribution to being environmentally friendly, vegan-friendly, and Herbicide & Pesticide free, which appeals to a great mass-market.

Their range, which consists of oils, muscle rubs, and capsules, are specifically designed with active people in mind, not just sportsmen. These products are all easy to use, easy to dose, and easy to take with you even on your busiest days. Hailed by many for being the best CBD products in South Africa, they’re taking over the recovery game like never before.

We caught up with the founders Dom and George, who highlight 5 questions you should ask yourself when considering CBD.

ASK YOURSELF – ARE YOU A CBD CANDIDATE?

When it comes to determining the perfect target audience for our products, we define our perfect candidate as a person who is health conscious, active and interested in trying new things! We target anyone who’s involved in sports or anyone who wants to stay active. There are a lot of people who work 9 to 5 or want to go for a jog after work or play squash. Anyone who has an active lifestyle is a candidate, essentially!

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH PRODUCT IS BEST FOR ME?

If you are after a faster impact with quicker-absorption we recommend you try our CBD oils. Our oils come in 2 different strengths and 2 different flavours, designed for each individual and their different needs. The different strengths include 500mg and 1,000mg CBD and the 2 flavors are natural and orange flavor. Both strengths are ideal for beginners to more advanced users for everyday use, much like a multivitamin or other supplement.

For a slower-releasing and longer-lasting effect we would suggest our capsules. We’ve created our capsules for people who want to experience the benefits of CBD for a more prolonged period. They are perfect for taking before work to get those CBD benefits throughout your busy day, or, for helping you stay healthy and active. CBD capsules are exactly what they sound like—a hearty dose of CBD in a small, swallowable package.

For anything external and skin related then our CBD muscle rubs are what you’re looking for. It has been formulated with menthol which helps to cool aching muscles, aid the recovery of inflammation and soothe general aches and pains.

IS CBD LEGAL?

Yes, CBD is legal. It has also been a permitted substance on professional athlete’s drug tests, listed by WADA and Global Dro, since January 2018. While CBD is legal throughout the SA, we still recommend caution when traveling with it. When traveling outside of SA we strongly recommend not bringing your fourfivecbd.

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CBD AND THE BODY?

The ecs is the body’s main regulatory system and is associated with CBD. The ecs is made up of two main receptors, cb1 and cb2. The ecs is also involved in mediating some of the physiological and cognitive effects of voluntary physical exercise.

Cb1 receptors are concentrated in the brain and central nervous system whilst the Cb2 receptors are mainly found in the immune system. Between them they influence many things including sleep, thinking, and appetite.

Our body produces small amounts of cannabinoids to pass through cb1 and cb2 receptors to try maintain a healthy balance, but usually our bodies need more cannabinoids than it can produce. CBD can help your ecs naturally produce more of its own cannabinoids to regulate your body and support a healthy body.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH STRENGTH IS BEST FOR ME?

If you are new to CBD use, we recommend you start with our lower strength CBD products. We’ve classed our products as lower, medium and higher strength to help you easily navigate the range. We also let you know exactly how many milligrams there are within each bottle so you can choose to your specification.

South Africa being a sports-driven country will no doubt enjoy a product like this! And just as their slogan suggests, Rest – Recover – Rise!
